Established strategy and directed operations for a portfolio generating annual revenues of $5 billion and EBITDA of $3 billion
Completed $4.2 billion of construction and development activity, generating an average investment return of over 8% on 2 new developments, 27 property expansions and 40 property enhancements
Assisted in the disposition of over 70 properties and restructured company operations
Negotiated the disposition of 7 properties for over $600 million
Added 6 new department stores to facilitate mall expansions, replaced 21 department stores and added 42 new anchor stores.
Increased EBITDA by a compounded annual growth rate of 3.2%, among the best in mall sector during 6 year tenure
Achieved 6 years of consistent occupancy growth from 93.7% to 96%, improved margins and stabilized tax recoveries
Completed the development of 3 residential and 4 hotel properties to portfolio

Equity Group Investments – 2007 to 2011
Zell Credit Opportunity Fund (Invested $625 million in distressed debt with Chinese Investment Company) – Served as senior investment committee member, analyzed and sourced investment opportunities across wide spectrum of industries
REITS – Served as Zell’s representative to senior management of Equity Residential Properties (NYSE:EQR) and Equity Lifestyle Properties (NYSE:ELS). board member, audit committee and compensation committee member of ELS
Equity International – served as EGI liaison, board member and advisor on mall, housing and retail-related investments in emerging markets. Provided retail expertise and market knowledge of Brazil, UAE, China, Kuwait, Chile, Mexico, Egypt and Canada
Starwood Hotels (NYSE:HOT) – Served as EGI liaison to company regarding real estate, time-share and development matters
Private Real Estate Portfolio – Identified opportunities; established and monitored strategic plans for individual real estate properties. Executed $25 million in renovations and $200 million in dispositions
Assisted Chicago Cubs with redesign of Wrigley Field and adjacent properties
The Macerich Company -1997 to 2007
Market capitalization grew 600% from $2 billion to $14 billion
FFO growth from $2.17 per share to $4.50 per share, a compounded annual increase of 8.75%
Portfolio growth from 20 million square feet to 80 million square feet
Macerich recognized as one of the top 10 performing REITs in the country (1997 to 2006)
Repositioned portfolio through $1.5 billion in property redevelopment and renovations and $500 million in dispositions
Eliminated annual budgets and shifted process to 36-month rolling forecasts with key performance metrics.
Acquired and integrated 58 regional malls and 18 shopping centers, aggregating in excess of 60 million square feet, including the $1.5 billion acquisition of Westcor in 2001(9 malls and 10 shopping centers) and the $2.3 billion acquisition of Wilmorite in 2004 (13 malls.).
Partnered with Oracle to develop web-based proprietary software and data base systems to automate company’s financial, leasing and human resource functions.
